Our partner choir in Edinburgh is Songworks Over the past year they have raised over £4,000.The money has come from sales of their cd, a public concert last summer, various workshops and classes and a regular selling “cakes in the break” at each weekly singing session. On Thursday 21st June Música Áurea will join in SongWorks’ evening sing. On Saturday 23rd they will lead a cuban singing workshop in the afternoon and in the evening will join SongWorks again for a public concert. In between these event they will have free tourist time and the weekend will end with a Summer Party Ceilidh for both choirs”.

Our partner choir in York is Chechelele Aurea will also be take part in a short informal performance in York Minster at 11am on Jun 21st, before they go on a tour of the Mansion House conducted by the Lord Mayor. Our partner choir in Nottingham is the Nottingham Clarion Choir“After meeting and greeting Aurea on Thursday 5th July, the choir will have a busy 2 days with us. They will be working with some of our young people in both primary and secondary schools before performing in the Djanogly Recital Hall on the evening of Friday 6th. On Saturday we're sure they'll enjoy the Cuban Garden Party: Nottingham's best attended and most important Cuba event run by the Cuba Solidarity Campaign. Finally for Saturday night we've organised a ceilidh with a live band to dance to. We're really looking forward to our time with them”.

Our partner choir in Leeds is Free Range Choir and in Bradford it is Bradford Voices “On Thursday 28th June Musica Aurea will headline the opening concert of the Garforth Arts Festival. They will join a long list of previous festival performers including; Hugh Masekela, Billy Bragg, The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, Chumbawumba, Kate Rusby, Eliza Carthy, Courtney Pine and The African Children’s Choir. During the day they will be leading a masterclass with students from Garforth schools. On Friday 29th June a Masterclass will be held at Seven Arts, , 31A Harrogate Road, Leeds LS7 3PD from 10.00 – 1.00pm. This is an opportunity to be immersed in Cuban rhythms, and Cuban song.
